Shane Trexler

Shane is a product-focused engineering professional with expertise in entrepreneurship, startups, and small business management. Utilizing a strong technical background with executive level experience, he fuels business decisions and strategies based on calculated risks.

Design and engineering solutions often go unnoticed without properly articulated presentation to pertinent stakeholders. For this reason, Mr. Trexler has become adept at learning and communicating business objectives. He has successfully bootstrapped teams, projects, and companies by efficiently assessing needs, resources, objectives, and taking a hands-on approach to accomplishing milestones.

Mr. Trexler has a depth of experience in sustainable design and engineering. He has advised local, federal, and private entities on the implementation of their energy conservation plans. He has also designed, developed and integrated renewable energy technologies and Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) across private, commercial, and government clients.

As society turns to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) to provide additional insight into a company’s operations, Shane and the SCG team have worked with industry leaders to provide quantifiable methods of conveying ESG strategies to your clients and the market.

Shane holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an Master of Business Administration from George Mason University. Shane has authored and presented at sustainability conferences in the U.S. and abroad. He is the resident sustainability and engineering expert for KGD Architecture in Washington, DC, and is the Vice President of Engineering for Seraph Biosciences, in Detroit, MI.

SCG founder, Shane Trexler, was nominated and selected to a three-year term on the Arlington County, VA, Community Energy Plan Implementation Review Committee (CEPIRC). In this role, he collaborated with dozens of local and nationally renowned energy experts in advising the county on the implementation of one of the nation's most aggressive local energy conservation plans.
